ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORTS

We strive to be a Zero Waste facility. Here are some of the ways we’re doing our best to be conscious of our environmental impact as a business in Humboldt County, California.

  • Our grains are sourced as locally as possible with the majority grown less than 80 miles from our distillery
  • All of our distilling equipment is made in America from our mill to our still to our fermenters
  • Our commercial kitchen includes top of the line Hestan appliances that were made in CA
  • We have a 3,000 gallon water recovery/chiller tank that recirculates our water (instead of running City water for hours on end). This tank was up-cycled from our neighbors Arcata Scrap & Salvage
  • Our bathrooms have hand driers instead of paper towels
  • 100% of our spent mash is donated to pigs (Over 70,000 gallons to date!)
  • All of our merchandise is American Made  & sourced as locally as possible (90% is from our County of Humboldt)
  • We recycle and compost everything we can
  • We love networking and creative re-use. A good example is our Whiskey made from day old bagels donated by Los Bagels
  • Our tasting room “rocks” glasses and lighting fixtures are made from our used spirits bottles.
  • The benches, tables and bar facades are made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes from E & O Bowl
  • All of our dishware is reusable including locally made glass straws (no plastic here!)
